The Cayman Islands Ministry of Financial Services and Commerce has announced the commencement of the Beneficial Transparency Act, 2023 on July 31, 2024. It is advised that the implementation of the new requirements and framework will take place early next year, i.e. January 2025.
The relevant regulations and guidance notes are enclosed:
- Beneficial Ownership Transparency Act;
- Beneficial Ownership Transparency Regulations, 2024 (LG26, S11);
- Beneficial Ownership Transparency General Guidance; and
- CSV Technical Guidance Notes (Final) – Revised 18 Jul 2024.
Portcullis is assured that the existing Beneficial Ownership data is being assessed and will continue to be submitted monthly as required under the legislation. In the meantime, we will contact you again about the new requirements requested in the new submission format.
